Friends in this tutorial we will see how to create Virtual Machine and install Operating system in VMware ESXi. We need VMware host where we want to deploy Virtual machine. We need ISO image or ISO DVD of Operating system which we want to install in our virtual machine. CPU, Memory and space should be available in your host as per your requirement of Virtual Machine.
Suppose if you want to allocate 50GB space of your Virtual machine, then 50GB space should be available in your VMware datastore. If you have all prerequisite available then you can create Virtual Machine and install your operating system in Virtual Machine. So let’s start to create our Virtual Machine and installation.
First of all we have to login our VMware host using vSphere client. Make sure user have proper rights to create a virtual machine and edit their resources. Once we have a successfully login in our VMware host we can find such types of windows.
In above windows you can see here our host has been successfully login. Now we need to right click on Host IP then we will get option to create a New Virtual Machine. After click on this option we will get below windows.
Here you can define your virtual machine name. I have define my virtual machine name test-vm. You can see here in this windows.
After name selection of Virtual machine we need to click on Next, then we will get storage option. In this option we have to select datastore for our virtual machine where we want to store our virtual machine. All information and virtual disk of our virtual machine will store in our selected datastore. You can see here datastore selected windows.
After storage selection we need click on next, then we will get Guest Operating System option. In this option we have to select operating system for our virtual machine. Here I am selecting CentOS7 for our virtual machine. You can select operating system as per your requirement.
After operating system selection we have to select Network for our virtual machine. We can select one network or multiple network for our virtual machine according network configure in our host. Network can be configure standard switch or virtual switch in our host.
After Network selection we have to click on Next, then we will get storage create option. Where we have to create Hard disk for our Virtual Machine. We can select hard disk size for our virtual machine as per our requirement. Here I am selecting 20 GB hard disk for our virtual machine. You can see here in below windows.
After disk size selection we need to click on Next, then we will get Ready to Compete windows. In this windows we have click on check box “Edit the virtual machine setting before completion” after that we need to click on continue, like below windows.
After continue this option, we will get below windows. Where we can review our edit our virtual machine resources as per our requirement. Such as we can increase our decrease CPU, RAM, Hard disk and Network. We can also attached ISO image for our virtual machine to continue OS installation. First of all we have to click on “New CD/DVD adding” then we will get one new windows where we have to select ISO from host. After that we have select browse and select the ISO image from our host data store, and click ok. After that we need to click on this check box “connect at power on” Now we have selected ISO image for Virtual Machine to installation. You can see below screen shot windows.
After ISO selection now click and Finish button. Now you can see here our Virtual Machine has been successfully configure, and present in our host. We can on our virtual machine to click power on button. After that you can see our virtual machine has been successfully on like below windows.
Once our virtual machine ON then we can click on console windows like TV screen. Then we can see our virtual machine will be open and CentOS7 has been successfully installation started on our Virtual Machine like below windows.
That’s all our Virtual Machine has been successfully configured for OS installation.
